SPALTED OAK FRUIT BOWL
SPALTED OAK FRUIT BOWL Item Sold
A wonderful piece of English Oak, turned from a section of Oak tree that came down in the storms 2014 in Respryn Woods, Cornwall. I rough turned the bowl in june 2014, and left to dry until April 2016 when I finished the bowl. It has a beautiful grain pattern, enhanced by the lighter area of spalted wood. The wall thickness is 10mm average. I have finished this bowl with a stabilizer, and three coats of beeswax and walnut oil which provides protection and adds a light sheen. This bowl may be used for dry foods, as the beeswax and walnut oil are foodsafe.
